Something about Sofia by Benefit

A sweet vanilla, chocolate and caramel scent from Benefit Cosmetics

Something about Sofia is a female fragrance available as an Eau de Toilette. It is suitable for trendy ladies in their twenties and thirties. It could be worn at any time of the day, and I would use it all year round. It is available in 30ml sizes.

The packaging

This comes in a very interesting little bottle with a snazzy box depicting Benefit's style. It's certainly an attractive look, and one that makes it a very nice gift to give to someone. It's unusual to see a perfume bottle looking like this, which makes it stand out in a department store, and somehow gives it an up-market or sophisticated feel, in a cute way. A neat little bottle to put in your handbag, and interesting to have on the bed-side table. In fact, I'd say it looks like a mini cocktail shaker!

The fragrance

When I initially sprayed this on, it gave me some chocolately tones, moving to caramel and vanilla soon afterwards. As it dries you can smell the floral notes such as jasmine and magnolia. To me this is not a very "in depth" fragrance. I like it a lot when I first put it on, but I'm not so wild about the smell it leaves on my skin. I can still smell it an hour after putting it on, but it isn't such a pleasant smell after that time as when it first goes on.

Who would wear this

I think this is a fragrance suitable for late-teens and ladies in their twenties and thirties, although the price may put off the younger market.

How it makes me feel

Wearing this makes me feel young, but not immature, and I would certainly use it for daytime wear. It is probably good for wearing all year round, as it is not particularly heavy or summery.
